Moscoso's bill on union members passes House
A bill that Rep. Luis Moscoso sponsored to clarify the role of nonvoting union members of transit boards passed the state House of Representatives on Friday.
The bill requires transit boards to include those nonvoting members in executive sessions unless the executive session deals with labor negotiations.
Moscoso said after the vote that the bill is needed because various agencies have been treating the nonvoting members in different ways.
The House passed the bill, 54-42 and sent it to the Senate
Moscoso represents the 1st Legislative District, which now includes Brier, Bothell, most of Mountlake Terrace, Woodinville and nearby unincorporated areas of Snohomish and King counties and with redistricting, will include Brier, Bothell, most of Mountlake Terrace, part of King County reaching into Kirkland and unincorporated areas of Snohomish County north and east of Bothell.
