Edmonds School District has lowest special-election voter turnout in county
The Edmonds School District’s voter turnout for the Feb. 14 special election was lowest among five Snohomish County school districts with measures on the ballot.
Voter turnout in Edmonds was 37.10 percent, as of Friday afternoon, compared with turnouts of between 37.09 percent and 39.89 percent for levies in Arlington, Darrington, Granite Falls and Monroe. Turnouts in King County school districts range from 26.35 percent to 45.11 percent.
The Edmonds School District replacement technology and capital improvement levy was passing Friday with a 63.05 percent “yes” vote, well ahead of the required simple majority. It would have needed a 60 percent majority before a 2007 amendment to the state Constitution.
