Easter egg hunts and other ideas for weekend fun

Hunt for eggs: Easter egg hunts are everywhere this weekend. Take a look at our list here.

Look for tulips: The first tulips should be making an appearance at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival this weekend. To see ideas on what to do in addition to admiring the flowers, take a look at our list here.

Start the racing season: Evergreen Speedway's season begins on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Monroe. The action starts with a demolition derby, followed by races. Find more details here.

Celebrate in Mukilteo: Ceremonies and a new exhibit are planned as the Mukilteo Light Station opens for the season at noon Saturday. Refreshments will be provided. A new historical display honoring firefighting in Mukilteo, “Firefighting through the Years,” is scheduled to be open. The light station, which includes the lighthouse and gift shop, will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (except Easter) through Sept. 30.

Go for a walk: Friends of Camano Island Parks members plan to offer a guided community walk from Cama Beach State Park to Camano Island State Park on Saturday. To participate, meet at 9:50 a.m. at Dry Lake Road and Ivy Road, 1.4 miles from Elger Bay Road. The walk is about 3.3 miles one way and should take about two hours. Get gardening: A series of classes will be offered Saturday during the Garden Affair at the Stillaguamish Grange at the Stanwood-Camano Fairgrounds. The event also includes a classic car show. Anime convention: Sakura-Con in a huge anime convention this weekend in Seattle. The event runs from Friday to Sunday. You'll find anime theaters, gaming, cosplay, cultural panels, dances, concerts, art contests, 100,000 square feet of exhibits and visits by guests of honor. Find more details here.
